Medication Management

Medication management is another important modality we utilize for treating chronic pain. Different classes of medications may be suggested for your pain depending on the type of pain, frequency, symptoms and areas involved. Some medications are more effective for pain and inflammation of bones and joints, while others are used for nerve pain sensations usually described as sharp, shooting, and electrical like.

• Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs):  ibuprofen, naproxen or aspirin
• Muscle Relaxants: cyclobenzaprine, norflex
• Neuropathic Drugs: gabapentin, lyrica
• Non-narcotic analgesics: tramadol
